The Illinois State Fair begins its 11-day run today in Springfield. It’s County Fair and Horse Racing Day as the first day of harness racing takes over the one-mile track at the grandstand.
The Twilight Parade steps off at 5:30 from Lincoln Park to the fairgrounds’ main gate. Traffic around the fairgrounds is one-way counterclockwise through the fair’s conclusion next Sunday, August 17.
